Strategy & Operations Group is ready to act as a reliable partner throughout the entire process of strategic and operational planning, starting from the definition of the mission and vision, opportunities for growth of the business, identification of a business model most suitable for your needs, development / updating of the strategy followed by ways to increasing operational efficiency, including elaboration of the new organizational structure, business process optimization, development of key performance indicators and implementation of the strategic road map.

  • Conducting primary and secondary research on the client organisation and the whole industry; interviews with the client and arranging focus groups
  • Identifying issues, gathering primary data, and presenting recommendations to key decision makers
  • Leading one or more project streams
  • Building strong business relationships with clients
  • Being a key team member on complex strategic advisory assignments: strategy reviews and development, market assessment, product development
  • Moving the client to action; developing a plan to implement strategic recommendations; managing execution
  • Presenting the results of your project stream. Keeping the whole KPMG project team as well as the client up to speed on the results of your work
  • Assessing competitive environment on target companies
  • Designing and executing strategic and financial analyses on prospective target companies and markets
  • Participating in the design and delivery of interview programmes with clients, customers and other potential industry participants
  • Contributing to the delivery and presentation of client deliverables and marketing initiatives
  • Playing an active role in business development activities
  • Coaching and supervising junior staff, developing your leadership skills
  • Adopting the KPMG culture of encouraging your colleagues' talents and aspirations


  • Higher education from a leading Kazakhstani or abroad university (degree preferably in Strategic management, Finance, Economics, Management, Mathematics, MBA is an advantage)
  • At least 1 year of work experience as Analyst (Financial/ Investment analyst) or Consultant from one of Big 4 or consulting companies is an advantage
  • Experience in strategy or operations related projects is a must
  • Good knowledge of analytical methods
  • Basic knowledge of macroeconomics/microeconomics
  • Marketing analyses, Statistical tools (forecast methods, data analysis)
  • Understanding features of RK Economics. - is an advantage
  • Financial modelling
  • Fluent English and Russian OR at least upper-intermediate/intermediate English, fluent Russian
  • Excellent computer skills MS Excel
  • Strong OR excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective team player
  • Strong analytical skills and logical thinking
  • Exceptional attention to details
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and multitask
